Idol to Insight: Inner Return

Hosea 10:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hosea 10 in context

Scripture Focus

5The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Bethaven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.
6It shall be also carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.
Hosea 10:5-6

Biblical Context

Samaria's people fear and mourn the idol they trusted; the priests who rejoiced over it are ashamed as the glory departs. Their own counsel is exposed as folly.

Neville's Inner Vision

Envision the calves of Bethaven as inner images of a mind clinging to appearances. Fear, mourning, and shame erupt when one mistakes symbol for power. The departing glory signals the light of awareness leaving when false worship takes hold. The journey to Assyria and the gift to king Jareb depict the mind handing sovereignty to imagined authorities; yet these are only thoughts awaiting revision. Ephraim ashamed of his own counsel points to the turning point: the moment you claim your true thinking and choose a different assumption, the old plans crumble. The remedy is inward: affirm the I AM as sovereign now and revise any belief that idols govern you. When you feel it real, exile dissolves and true worship returns within.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and see the calf of Bethaven as a thought-form. Assume, 'I AM that I AM governs this moment,' revise any fear-based plan, and feel the glory of true worship returning now.
