Biblical Context
The LORD's word comes to Hosea during the reigns of several kings, commanding him to marry a wife of whoredoms and bear children of whoredoms, symbolizing Israel's spiritual infidelity to the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the I AM within you, Hosea's commission is not history but a mirror of your inner state. The word 'came' is a movement in consciousness, and the command to take a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms is an enacted parable: the soul's flirtations with idols, with images of security rather than with divine presence. The land that has committed great whoredom becomes the belief that life is found outside the I AM, in externals—rituals, possessions, or status. This is not punishment but a vivid pedagogy: until you see the unreliability of outward appearances, you cannot awaken to the living presence within. Hosea's personal life mirrors every mind that confuses appearances for reality. The message invites a return to fidelity with the I AM, to forge an inner covenant where the heart aligns with divine consciousness. When you interpret events as movements of consciousness, you remember you are always being led back to your true self, the I AM that remains faithful even when circumstances seem to deny it.
Practice This Now
Assume the state of the I AM as your central reality; close your eyes and feel yourself completely aligned with God, then revise any sense of separation by affirming, 'I am faithful to the divine,' holding that feeling for several minutes.
