Purifying Heavenly Patterns

Hebrews 9:23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hebrews 9 in context

Scripture Focus

23It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Hebrews 9:23

Biblical Context

The verse says earthly patterns are purified with these sacrifices. The heavenly realities themselves require better sacrifices.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the heavens as your inner state, a pattern of consciousness in which you live. The earthly sacrifices are but symbols—the rites, beliefs, and social forms you perform to honor a change you do not yet feel at the depth of your being. Hebrews says the true purification of the heavenly things is achieved by better sacrifices. In Neville's practice, the heavens correspond to your I AM awareness—the steady, non-changing you that already knows and contains your desired state. The purifying agent is not external ritual but an inner act: assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled; revise any contrary memory; dwell in the conviction that you are already that which you seek. When you truly inhabit that inner reality, the pattern of your mind becomes congruent with its higher form, and the outer scene settles to reflect it. You do not push the world; you become the living proof of its truth by the intensity and consistency of your inner state—a simple, yet profound, transformation.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly and assume the feeling of your wish fulfilled as if it exists now. Revise any lingering doubt with the statement I AM the state I desire.
