Shadow to Substance: Inner Covenant
Hebrews 8:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse explains that the earthly tabernacle and its rites were patterns of heavenly realities, and that Jesus now mediates a superior covenant with better promises.
Neville's Inner Vision
View Hebrews 8:5-6 as a revelation that the earthly temple was only a pattern, a shadow of heavenly realities shown to Moses. The inner work of God is not a distant ceremony but a state of consciousness you inhabit. In Neville’s cadence: heaven is within the I AM you acknowledge now, not in some future rebuilt temple. The true ministry is your present awareness, the self's fidelity to a pattern already laid in consciousness, mediating a better covenant made of better promises. Jesus appears not as a distant historical figure but as the Living I AM within you—your capacity to turn attention from external form to the inner truth. The shift is from imitation to immediate contact with the divine pattern. When you rest in that inner sanctuary and align your thoughts with the feeling of the wish fulfilled, the shadow loses its claims and substance takes its place. Your awareness becomes the tabernacle; your life testifies to a covenant of health, truth, and abundance established in consciousness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: for five minutes, close your eyes and assume the feeling of being inside the inner sanctuary; quietly declare, 'I AM that I AM,' and feel the pattern of the better covenant becoming your present reality. Repeat daily until the sense of lack fades and the inner pattern solidifies.
