Inner Covenant of Knowing
Hebrews 8:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Hebrews 8 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage describes a new covenant where God's laws are placed within the mind and heart, making knowledge of the Lord an internal, universal awareness. It shifts away from external instruction toward an inner knowing that all shall share.
Neville's Inner Vision
Picture this: the external law dissolves as the I AM writes Its law into your mind and heart. The 'house of Israel' within is the state of consciousness that receives this inward covenant; the old outward commandments fade as inner truth is formed. When you dwell as the I AM, you discover you are being made a God to yourself and a people to God, through the seamless unity of awareness with its own expression. The promise 'they shall know me, from the least to the greatest' becomes your living certainty: no matter where you start, the inner knowing expands across every facet of your being. The old division between teacher and taught dissolves because the knowledge arises from within, written into feeling, thought, and memory. You are not waiting for others to say, 'Know the Lord'—you are the living, inner covenant, awakening to divine presence as your very sense of self.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and affirm, 'The laws are written in my mind and heart; I know the Lord now.' Then feel the certainty rise as if you already walk in this intimate, universal knowing.
