The Inner Priest Forever
Hebrews 7:20-25 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Hebrews 7 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The text contrasts earthly priests with an eternal priesthood, upheld by an oath, presenting Jesus as the perpetual intercessor who saves those who come to God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within your awareness, the 'oath' is the fixed I AM decree you utter in quiet, for without oath, priests of the old mind fade with time; but this One, who was sworn by the I AM who cannot lie, stands forever in your consciousness as the unchangeable priesthood. He is not a man passed by death but the ever-present I, the unalterable current of life that makes intercession possible. Therefore, you are exhorted to turn away from the fluctuations of time-bound religion and dwell in the certainty that you are saved to the uttermost by the one who lives eternally to render aid. In Neville fashion, imagine that your awareness has embraced the assumption that you are already in union with God through this priesthood. The remission of fear, the healing of lack, the reconciliation of the inner and outer—these are not distant events but movements of consciousness caused by accepting the I AM as priest and intercessor within you. The second realm speaks: faith is not asking; it is recognizing what your inner God has already accomplished.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, breathe, and repeat, 'I AM the priest forever in me.' Feel the oath as a fixed I AM decree sealing your state; rest in the sense that God, through this intercessor within, attends to you now.
