Biblical Context
Perfection is not achieved by the Levitical priesthood. The passage says that when one priesthood changes, the law must change too.
Neville's Inner Vision
Perfection, in this inner reading, is a state of consciousness, not a certificate from an external code. The Levitical priesthood represents a mindset that seeks completion through outward obedience, the sense that life is measured by rules. Then emerges another priest after Melchizedek's order—the I AM alive in you, the higher awareness that stands independent of time. This priesthood comes from your own present awareness, a king of righteousness and peace that reigns in you now. When you entertain the assumption that this higher priesthood rules, the old law must yield to the living law of consciousness. The commands you once followed are transformed into expressions of a living I AM, not external demands. Perfection becomes the natural alignment of feeling and thought under the new ruler. You do not fight the old code; you revise your inner state and let the law bend to your awakened awareness. In this light, the change of priesthood signals a new creation—your life renewed by awareness rather than ritual.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit in quiet, breathe, and repeat I AM the higher priest in me now governs; feel it real, then revise a difficult situation as already under this new law.
