Inner Sonship Declared

Hebrews 5:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hebrews 5 in context

Scripture Focus

5So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
Hebrews 5:5

Biblical Context

Christ did not exalt himself to be high priest; instead, the Father declared him a Son today. The status comes from God, not from self-promotion.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here the Son does not boast; the Father speaks. So too in your life, your inner teacher does not seek to create authority from within; authority is passed to you by the I AM when you rest in a single assumption. The 'this day' is not a date but a now in consciousness when you realize you are begotten by God, a son settled in grace. The high priest is not a man of self-glory but a function of inner order—an instruction to your soul that you are already crowned by the Father; you merely awaken to that fact. Obedience and faithfulness are not acts to earn favor but dispositions of awareness that accept the decree. When you imagine yourself as the Son, you step into the covenant of loyalty—the awareness that you are loved, provided for, and authorized to act from peace. The outer world may not reflect it yet, but the inner witness remains constant: you are begotten, you are set in God, and all grace flows from that recognition.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of the Son now; repeat 'I am the begotten Son of God' and feel the I AM’s seal. Allow any sense of lack to revise to that inner declaration.
