Inner Milk to Solid Truth

Hebrews 5:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hebrews 5 in context

Scripture Focus

12For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Hebrews 5:12-13

Biblical Context

Time you ought to be teachers; you still need someone to teach you the basics. You are like a babe, drinking milk rather than the solid food of righteousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

All spiritual growth is a shift in state. The time you ought to be a teacher is the moment you awaken to the fact that you are the I AM here now, and that the first principles of God’s oracles are the consistent identification of your true nature. The 'milk' represents relying on appearances and external teachings; the 'strong meat' is the living application of truth—the inner decision that your words and life express the righteousness you already know. When you still use milk, you are not yet skilled in the word because you have not yet assumed the responsibility of your own inner authority. The call of this verse is to revise: you have the power to teach because you are the teacher of your own reality. The inner movement from infancy to maturity is a change of consciousness, not a change of circumstance. Therefore, refuse to seek truth apart from you; dwell in the I AM, imagine the life you desire as already true, and allow your inner speech to declare the verdict of righteousness in every moment.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare: I AM the teacher of my life; revise the belief that I still need milk, and feel the solid meat of truth within.
