Hebrews 4:14 says we have a great high priest who has entered the heavens. It invites us to hold fast to our profession.
Neville's Inner Vision
Seen through the inner vision Neville Goddard teaches, this verse does not describe an external ascent, but an interior ascent of the self. The great high priest is the I AM within you, the true meaning of your consciousness who has entered the heavens—the higher states of awareness you know when you refuse to doubt. Jesus the Son of God represents the unity of your divine nature with that awareness. Therefore you are not petitioning a distant deity; you are acknowledging the one living in you and as you. To 'hold fast your profession' is to retain the assumption that your desire is already realized in that higher sense. The moment you stop oscillating between lack and presence, you align with the state where the priest stands in the heavens and you come to rest in the truth that you are the expression of that presence. Practice by returning often to the end you desire and declare internally, 'I am now what I seek,' letting the feeling of already having it fill you.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the end you desire is already yours. Sit in quiet awareness and feel the I AM within you, as if you have stepped into the heavenly state and are living from it now.
