Inner Word and Grace Unveiled

Hebrews 4:12-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hebrews 4 in context

Scripture Focus

12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
14Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:12-16

Biblical Context

The passage proclaims that God's word is alive and powerful, discerning thoughts and intents; nothing about us is hidden from the I AM, and it invites us to boldly approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and help.

Neville's Inner Vision

Hebrews 4:12-16 invites me to see the Word of God as a living force within my consciousness, not as a distant text. The verse shows the word piercing to the division of soul and spirit, revealing the thoughts and intents of my heart, and nothing in me is hidden from the I AM I address. The 'great high priest' who has passed into the heavens is my inner Self—the Christ within—that knows every struggle yet remains untouched by sin in the light of awareness. Therefore I come boldly to the throne of grace, not from fear, but in the realization that mercy and grace are already mine. By holding fast my profession—the inner conviction that I am the Word in action—I allow this Word to separate false beliefs from truth and disclose my truest nature. In that inner court I see myself as I AM: present, powerful, and held by divine love, ready to receive help in time of need.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume: 'I am the Word in action.' Feel yourself seated at the throne of grace in your consciousness and accept mercy now.
