Biblical Context
Moses was faithful in God's house, while Christ is the Son over the house, and we are the house to the extent we hold fast to confidence and the rejoicing of hope.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine the word house as the theater of your own consciousness. Moses did faithful service in the house appointed by God, a testimony to a coming revelation. But Christ, as a Son over the house, stands within you as the living awareness that builds and sustains every moment. The question of 'whose house are we' is a question of state: you are not a spectator but the very substance of the dwelling when you permit the I AM to reign. God is the Builder; the house is fashioned by the idea you dwell in and are identified with. Therefore the distinguishing feature is not outward duty, but inner recognition: faith that endures, hope that remains, and a settled confidence that the end is already accomplished in consciousness. The old servant’s fidelity points to the posture of attention—perseverance in awareness. The new son over the house is your now, your present I AM, the inner ruler who never leaves. Hold fast to that inner certainty, and you will find you are already within the promised presence.
Practice This Now
Sit, close your eyes, and revise your state to, 'I am the house Christ rules; I hold fast to confidence and the joy of the hope.' Breathe and feel that presence as real in your chest.
