Hebrews 3:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hebrews 3 in context

Scripture Focus

12Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Hebrews 3:12-13

Biblical Context

Hebrews 3:12-13 warns you to guard against an unbelieving heart and to exhort one another daily, so the heart stays open to the living God.

Neville's Inner Vision

Remember, the brethren are states of consciousness; the living God is the I AM within. When you feel an evil heart of unbelief, you are witnessing a momentary drift, not a permanent condition. The answer is revision through imagination: assume the truth that I AM is present here now, and begin a daily inner exhortation—speaking to yourself as the living presence that you are. Do not rail against sin; guide your feeling back to trust, and let belief be re-imaged as your habitual state. The deceitfulness of sin lies in the false sense of separation; counter it by dwelling in the feeling of oneness, the certainty that you are continually attended by divine life. Practice it as you would tend a garden: two minutes of quiet, the phrase 'I am' repeated until it feels real, then the imagined scene where you and God converse and encourage one another. Perseverance means continuing this revision every day until the old belief is forgotten and faith is your natural atmosphere.

Practice This Now

Do this now: sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume the truth 'I am in God.' Repeat 'To day I live in the I AM' until belief is felt as real, then imagine a brief inner exhortation circle of you and God encouraging you.
