The Inner House of Faith

Hebrews 3:1-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hebrews 3 in context

Scripture Focus

1Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
3For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.
4For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
5And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
6But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
Hebrews 3:1-6

Biblical Context

Jesus is presented as the Apostle and High Priest over our profession, greater than Moses, the builder of the house. We become part of that house by holding fast to our confident hope until the end.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider that Jesus is the Apostle and High Priest over your life, a living state of consciousness you assume and dwell in. Moses stands as the faithful servant in the house—a pattern pointed to what was to be spoken after—while Christ, the Son, stands over the house, the creative power that gives the dwelling its form. The house is your inner disposition, the inner architecture by which you experience the heavenly calling. God built all things; your awareness is the vessel he has built. If you hold fast the confidence and rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end, you are already within that divine dwelling. The sense of separation fades as you align with the vision that you belong to the house he rules. Your endurance flows from this recognition, not from pushing yourself into perfection. Begin now to revise any fear or limitation by declaring, 'I am the house God built; Christ is over my house; I am the consciousness that endures.'

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Before bed or upon waking, assume you are already in the divine house; feel it real by repeating, 'I am the house God built; Christ is over my house' until the sense of separateness dissolves.
