Biblical Context

Hebrews 2:18 states that since Christ suffered while tempted, He is able to provide succor to those who are tempted.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you, the I AM knows temptation because it has suffered it. The line is not about a distant savior, but about the inner state that has endured and can now soothe. When you feel drawn toward a temptation, do not plead with willpower; instead, assume a state of awareness that has already overcome it. The 'he' who suffered becomes the 'I' who succors—your own awareness, awake and unafraid. The inner Christ is the living memory of victory, present as your current sensing that you are not alone but cradled by the Self. Imagine a hand of calm confidence extending from your chest, saying, 'You are succored now.' Let the feeling enter until the impulse to yield dissolves in the warmth of consciousness. This is not escape but the restoration of your natural state: you are supported by the I AM, and temptation loses its grip as you remain conscious of that support.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and assume: 'I am succored now.' Feel the I AM extending a steady, comforting support until the temptation loses its pull.
