Hebrews 2:16-17

Biblical Context

Hebrews 2:16-17 shows Jesus took humanity, not angels, to be like his brethren and to serve as a merciful and faithful high priest, reconciling sins. It invites you to see your inner state as the ground of forgiveness and unity with God.

Neville's Inner Vision

Listen to the inner teaching: God is not distant in heaven, but the I AM that walks in you. The verse declares that Christ took the seed of Abraham, that is, the state of faith, not angelic superiority, so that in all things he might be made like unto his brethren. This is your inner reality, for every heartbeat is the movement of consciousness choosing to identify with the humanity you share with your neighbor. When you assume you are the merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, you are choosing reconciliation as a present act of mind: you forgive yourself, others, and the world by seeing through separation into unity. The law of your life is not punishment but mercy, not an external rite but your inner state of compassion. By imagining yourself seated in this high-priestly office, you align the inner and outer, and sins dissolve as illusions of separation fade. The saved are those who awaken to this fact of consciousness and dwell there.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, breathe into the I AM presence, and revise your sense of self to I am the seed of Abraham, merciful and faithful in God's sight. Then feel it-real by living from that office for a minute, and observe the inner reconciliation ripple into your day.
