Biblical Context

Hebrews 2:12-13 speaks of declaring God's name to one's brethren in the church of consciousness, singing praise, and trusting in God, acknowledging the children God has given.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the awakened mind, these verses unfold as a scene inside a single consciousness. The 'brethren' are your other aspects of self—thoughts, feelings, powers—gathered in the 'church,' which is the field of awareness you occupy. Saying 'thy name' to them is not petition but acknowledgment: you recognise that God is the I AM within you, the living reality to be proclaimed through every inner voice. When you sing praise 'in the midst of the church,' you are praising the very act of awareness that holds all forms; gratitude becomes the vibration by which you inhabit the truth. 'I will put my trust in him' is a declaration to rely on the I AM rather than shifting appearances; you revise your sense of self to align with divine consciousness. And 'behold I and the children which God hath given me' expresses that your inner faculties and their expressions—your ideas, desires, abilities—are the children God gave you, proofs of His presence. The whole passage invites you to live from inner unity, letting your outer life reflect this crowned state of awareness.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume the I AM is speaking through you to your inner brethren; feel the trust as a living current and recognize your thoughts and desires as the children God has already given you.
