Inner Choir of Brethren

Hebrews 2:12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hebrews 2 in context

Scripture Focus

12Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
Hebrews 2:12

Biblical Context

The verse speaks of declaring God's name to the brethren within the church, and singing praise there. It invites us to see 'brethren' as our inner unity and the 'church' as our inner sanctuary.

Neville's Inner Vision

I tell you, Hebrews 2:12 is a blueprint for the inner man. Your brethren are the states of consciousness you harbor in the I AM; the church is the field of awareness where they meet. When I declare thy name, I am naming the power that I am—God within me—so that no part of me remains unmoved by truth. To sing praise in the midst of the church is to feel the harmony of these states as one living reality. The true worship is not external ritual but the inner recognition that God, the I AM, is present as all the voices within: faith, trust, courage, tenderness, aspiration. As I revise my sense of self to be in union with the divine name, the inner chorus answers with confidence and vitality. The result is a life that reflects the stated truth: unity among the 'brethren' and a clear, joyful presence of God through every circumstance.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume you already dwell in the inner church with your brethren; mentally declare the divine name and feel the harmony. Then sing a simple praise in your heart, letting the feeling of unity seal the experience.
