Read Hebrews 13 in context

Scripture Focus

15By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Hebrews 13:15-16

Biblical Context

The passage invites continual praise to God and acts of kindness; true worship is both inner gratitude and outward generosity.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the awakened self, these verses announce a law of inner reality. 'By him therefore' is your recognition that all life flows from the I AM you truly are, and the 'sacrifice of praise' is the steady, felt gratitude you cultivate in that consciousness. When you utter 'the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name' you are not petitioning an external deity, you are aligning your inner speech with the fact of awareness. Praise becomes a continuous state, a habit of feeling the truth that God is the very nature of your life. 'But to do good and to communicate forget not' reveals the second law: generous action is the natural outpouring of that inner state. Act as if your neighbor’s good is your own, for in this inner reality there is no separation. When you live from that awareness, you please the divine within—the I AM that you are—because such acts are acts of self-recognition. The outward sacrifices are therefore manifestations of your inner harmony; the world changes when you permit your heart to live as gratitude and generosity.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and declare, 'I am the praise I offer; I am the generous life in action.' Then imagine a small act of sharing with someone in need and feel the state of gratitude already present in you.
