Hebrews 12:15

Biblical Context

Hebrews 12:15 urges steady vigilance to remain in grace and warns that a root of bitterness can spring up to defile many.

Neville's Inner Vision

Look at the verse as an invitation to awaken to the living I AM within. In Neville's language, grace is not an external favor but the ever-present state of God-consciousness in which you dwell. Looking diligently is the inner discipline of awareness that refuses to let thoughts contrary to your true nature establish residence. A root of bitterness is only a belief that you have suffered something separate from the one Life. It arises when you forget your identity as the I AM and treat events as separate lords that govern you. The moment you notice the first whisper of grievance, revise your sense of self by sinking into the certainty: I am in grace now; I am held by the living presence that cannot be touched by bitterness. Defilement is contagious only when you consent to a lower mood; keep your inner air clean by affirming your unity with grace, and you will hear that the many are touched by your grace rather than troubled by your injury. Your job is to remain consciously in grace, letting the mind's field be filled with God-awareness.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly and declare to yourself, 'I am in grace now.' When bitterness arises, revise the impression by affirming that I AM in grace; visualize a bright stream of grace cleansing the mind and root of bitterness being pulled out and replaced by light.
