Rise Into Inner Holiness

Hebrews 12:12-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hebrews 12 in context

Scripture Focus

12Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
13And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
14Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
15Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
16Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
17For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

Biblical Context

Hebrews 12:12-17 invites you to restore inner strength, straighten your mental paths, and pursue peace and holiness. It warns against bitterness and quick, self-serving choices that undermine your inheritance.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your verse is not about places and people but about states of consciousness. Lift the hands that hang down represents turning attention from weariness to the I AM, and straighten the inner pathways by aligning every thought with the conviction that you are already whole. When you follow peace with all men and holiness, you are choosing to dwell in the same high consciousness that sees the divine birthright as guaranteed. The "grace of God" is your continuous flow of I AM awareness; guard it as you would a garden, for bitterness, once allowed to spring, defiles many by tying you to grievance rather than to the fullness of your nature. Esau’s story becomes a warning against sacrificing lasting inheritance for a momentary appetite; you cannot regain what you reject in the moment, unless you awaken to true repentance as a change of mind, not mere tears. See that you are not separated from your blessing but must turn your attention inward, to God the I AM inside you, where all healing and holiness are found.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already healed, upright, and at peace; revise any sense of lack by affirming the I AM within you as your constant reality.
