The Covenant Spirit Within

Haggai 2:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Haggai 2 in context

Scripture Focus

5According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.
Haggai 2:5

Biblical Context

God declares that, because of the covenant, His Spirit remains among you. Therefore, fear need not rule your life.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of this verse as a call to inward recognition. The covenant word is not a distant contract but a mirroring of your inner state: God’s presence is the I AM that animates you, and that I AM remains with you, no matter external appearances. When you perceive any lack or threat, you have forgotten that you are the living temple where the Spirit abides. The Spirit is not outside you to be summoned; it is the continuous awareness that never leaves, the unbroken stream of life behind every sense of separation. To Neville's ear, the promise is practical: you can revise fear by assuming the truth that you are already in union with the divine, that your thoughts and imagination are the engine by which you experience reality. Trust this inner covenant; align your attention with the feeling of the I AM and watch as the outer conditions respond to the renewed inner state. The more you dwell in that consciousness, the more your life reflects the presence that cannot be removed.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Assume the I AM is present now and feel the Spirit surrounding you. Revise fear by repeating, 'I am in covenant; fear not,' until the sensation of presence becomes real in your body.
