Biblical Context
Haggai rebukes the people for dwelling in cedar houses while the temple lies in ruins. He bids them consider their ways and rebuild the house so that God may be glorified and their true abundance restored.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the inner sight, the word of the Lord through Haggai becomes a gentle summons from your own I AM. The outward pattern of lack is the inner habit of ignoring the sacred space within. When you sow much but reap little, when your daily wages vanish into holes, that is not a punishment but a signal that the temple inside is neglected. The call to go up the mountain and fetch wood is a call to rise in consciousness, to gather the inner resources of imagination, faith, and disciplined attention, and to build the temple of awareness where God takes pleasure. If mine house is waste, it is because you have run to your own concerns instead of attending to the I AM present in you. Restore the inner sanctuary by assuming the feeling of its rebuilt glory, and notice how life aligns with that truth as if the house is finally warm, full, and blessed.
Practice This Now
Pause, close your eyes, and declare I AM the builder of my inner temple. Imagine laying one beam of light across every thought that has drained energy; feel the warmth of a space aligned with God within.
