Biblical Context
The verse records the people saying the time is not yet right to rebuild the LORD's house. In Neville's view, this expresses an inner delay—an attitude of doubt rather than a lack of opportunity.
Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 1:2 speaks of a people who insist the moment has not arrived to erect the LORD's house. But in the circle of Neville Goddard's teaching, the temple is not a wall of stone but a state of consciousness you carry within. The declaration 'this time is not come' is a confession of what you are presuming about your own awareness: you believe the circumstance must precede your inner building. Yet awareness itself is the builder. When you imagine the temple as already standing, you are no longer waiting for some external approval; you are answering the call of the I AM. See the inside of you as the sacred space and the work you must do is to assume the end: the temple exists now in consciousness, and its form manifests as your experience. The decree to delay is a revision to be replaced by the certainty that the house is complete. As you entertain that vision with feeling, your outer world begins to align with the inner structure you are sustaining with attention, faith, and persistent assumption.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the temple is already complete within you. Feel it, see it, and declare, 'The time to build the LORD's house is now.'
