Veil Of Dignity Within
Genesis 9:22-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Ham saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brethren; Shem and Japheth then took a garment and, turning away, covered their father’s nakedness.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Ham you look—an act of consciousness that worships the outward gaze, a belief that knowledge of another's vulnerability gives you power. In the inner drama, Ham represents a habit of mind that desires to expose weakness for control. Shem and Japheth take a garment and lay it on both shoulders, then go backward, not to stare, but to cover the nakedness. This is the inner act of mercy: choosing to clothe vulnerability in reverence rather than to name and shame. The 'nakedness' is the hidden state of awareness you deem unworthy of love as it is; the 'father' is the I AM within you; the 'two brethren' are your thinking and imagining faculties that cooperate when you opt for mercy. To cover is to withhold judgment and bless the truth with dignity. When you perform this inner covering, you align with the fact that consciousness is the only reality, and the imagination fashions the world from this mercy, restoring human dignity in every part of your being.
Practice This Now
Assume you are the mind that covers; in imagination, lay a robe of mercy over a vulnerable part of your Self and move away from judgment. Feel the I AM affirming this act as real.
