Biblical Context

Genesis 9:18-19 names Noah's three sons—Shem, Ham, and Japheth. It states that the whole earth was overspread by them.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the Genesis account, the ark of Noah stands as your current state of consciousness, and the three sons—Shem, Ham, and Japheth—appear as the fundamental faculties at play. Shem speaks through disciplined thought and fidelity to the I AM, naming a right order in which ideas govern life. Japheth embodies expansion, the impulse to explore, to spread, to form new outward fields. Ham bears the seed of a land, here spoken of as Canaan, which is born from a movement that can misgovern the life when not checked by order. The clause that these three sons are the whole earth's source shows that your entire world is the outward result of the inner movements of these states; the drama of your day is the interaction of memory, appetite, and vision. If you would change your outer conditions, you must revise the inner posture that precedes them: imagine a new dominant state, feel its reality now, and let that state, not fear or habit, rule your day.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume a new inner state that corresponds to the world you want. Feel it as already real and let that inner conviction govern your day.
