Biblical Context
Genesis 7:17-24 depicts a forty-day flood lifting the ark, the waters covering the earth and mountains. All living flesh perishes except Noah and those with him in the ark.
Neville's Inner Vision
Looking through the I AM, the flood is not a catastrophe but the turning of the mind from drift to dwelling in a fixed consciousness. The waters rising represent thoughts and fears that erode the old sense of separation; the ark is your interior state—awareness clothed in the I AM—lifted above the waves. When the waters prevail and cover the mountains, it signifies that every old belief about distance, time, and lack is submerged beneath the dominant awareness of life. The destruction of all flesh outside the ark marks the old self dissolving in the truth that identity is never touched by external storms. Noah and his companions survive because within they are aligned with the I AM and the ark, the only stable reality. The 150 days are the period within which you hold this realization, letting it root until the old forms are gone and renewal can begin. In this way, Genesis 7:17-24 becomes a guide to inner judgment, salvation, and the birth of a new creation within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Sit quietly and assume the I AM as your permanent identity, envision yourself inside the ark, lifted by the waters of consciousness; affirm 'I AM' and feel the old fears dissolving as renewal takes root within.
