Inner Giants and Divine Union
Genesis 6:2-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Genesis 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse describes the sons of God taking brides from the daughters of men, producing giants, and a divine declaration about human lifespan.
Neville's Inner Vision
All scripture is a description of states of consciousness. The 'sons of God' are higher faculties—imagination, faith, discipline—invading the 'daughters of men,' the busy thoughts and appetites of the ordinary self. When this inner union occurs, the offspring are ‘giants’ in memory and belief—magnified capabilities or fears born from the blending of divine intent with human habit. The Lord’s statement that His Spirit shall not strive with man forever marks a shift in consciousness: you may permit a shorter span of old limitation by choosing to remain in the I AM awareness, not in fleshly fear. The giants are not external beings but the durable results of your inner assumptions. Keep the consciousness intact, and the great ones of old become the potential you presently realize; with steady alignment, you awaken the mighty men of old in your present experience. The key is to realize that you are the ground of all you encounter, and imagination creates reality when believed.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Close your eyes and dwell in the feeling of your wish fulfilled; repeat I AM and revise a current limitation by declaring it dissolved, then watch the inner giants bow to your inward sun.
