The passage describes Noah gathering two of every kind of creature and food into the ark to preserve life through the flood.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within me, the ark is an inner state that keeps life alive as the currents of circumstance rise. The two of every kind—paired energies, inclinations, ideas—are the poles I must hold together in awareness. I do not rescue life from without; I sustain it from within by arranging a harbor of order inside myself. The male and the female symbolize balance—action and receptivity, drive and rest—made one through the I AM that notices. Noah, the awakener of consciousness within me, gathers these forms and nourishes them with the bread of awareness, providing not only for creatures but for all that sustains life—the habits, nourishment, and discipline I require to endure any flood. Providence is the intelligence of my own mind arranging the ark’s cargo so that, when the storm comes, life continues alive with me, not outside of me. The outer event is the stage on which my inner order shows itself; the real ark is my state of consciousness, constant, steadfast, here and now.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume you are the ark; in quiet mindfulness, gather two of every essential energy inside you, and feel them nourished by awareness. As you breathe, declare, 'I AM the ark that preserves life in all storms.'
