Dwelling in Inner Egypt

Genesis 50:22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Genesis 50 in context

Scripture Focus

22And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.
Genesis 50:22

Biblical Context

Joseph remained in Egypt with his family, living to the age of 110.

Neville's Inner Vision

Joseph in the text is not a man in a land, but a state of consciousness that remains firm in a world that seems foreign. The act of dwelling is an inner residence: the I AM mindedness persists, and longevity is the fruit of it. When you dwell in Egypt with your family, you are proving that the outer scene does not set the measure of life; inner settlement does. The exile becomes a school of faith, where the presence of God is not a distant event but your daily awareness. Your true home is where you are conscious of your I AM, irrespective of appearances. So, imitate Joseph: declare, right now, that you are already living in your inner land; feel the steady, untroubled vitality that comes from the assumption that the whole scene is under divine care. Let the image hold, and the outer steps back from overwhelming your sense of self. Imagination shapes what seems real; plant in your mind the image of lasting well-being and you will see the outer life follow.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already dwelling in your inner land today; close your eyes, say, 'I am dwelling in inner Egypt, safe and guided by God,' and feel the I AM saturate your life.
