Inner Forgiveness in Genesis 50:17

Genesis 50:17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Genesis 50 in context

Scripture Focus

17So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.
Genesis 50:17

Biblical Context

Joseph forgives his brothers when they ask for forgiveness, acknowledging their trespass. Joseph weeps at the moment of reconciliation.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this Genesis moment the trespass of others and the memory of it arise in the mind as a call to separation, yet forgiveness is the only true reconciliation, for the only reality you inhabit is your I AM. When Joseph weeps, it is the soul's release at the moment you stop replaying injury and assume the sentience that forgives already. The brothers' plea becomes a confirmation that the God of thy father resides in you as the higher self; the servants are the faculties that minister to that Self, mercy, compassion, and grace. By choosing to forgive now you revise the scene in your imagination and consecrate the inner space to peace. The so-called past is a present belief you can rewrite in your mind; insist that the trespass has been forgiven and see Joseph respond from love. In that act division dissolves into unity; the inner kingdom asserts itself through feeling and perception.

Practice This Now

Assume you have already forgiven the trespass in your mind and feel the release as the I AM witnesses peace. Repeat a simple decree I forgive and release all trespasses now until the sensation of harmony remains.
