Covenant Carried Home

Genesis 50:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Genesis 50 in context

Scripture Focus

12And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them:
13For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.
Genesis 50:12-13

Biblical Context

Jacob's command is fulfilled as his sons carry him to the land of Canaan and bury him in Machpelah. The act reveals obedience that seals a family covenant in the inner life.

Neville's Inner Vision

See the scene as a map of your inner states. The sons are facets of your consciousness carrying out a decree from the I AM within. The land of Canaan is the promised state of consciousness you settle into, and Machpelah represents a tomb for the old self—beliefs that no longer serve you laid to rest in a field you own. Abraham's purchase signifies you already possess the inner ground where transformation occurs. The burial rite is not death but renewal: by obeying an inner command, you imprint the new pattern upon your outer world. When you assume you are the one who commands your life, your inner ministry moves from possibility to actuality because the I AM is the living awareness through which all events unfold.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and, in the name of the I AM, command your inner states to carry the old self into the land of your consciousness and bury it in Machpelah. Then feel the new covenant rising here and now as the current state you inhabit.
