Anger Divides, Unity Restores

Genesis 49:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Genesis 49 in context

Scripture Focus

5Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.
6O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.
7Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
Genesis 49:5-7

Biblical Context

The verses warn that Simeon and Levi’s cruelty divides the people, advising not to join their secret ways, causing internal division and scattering.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you, Simeon and Levi are not distant foes but two restless states of mind: the urge to strike in anger and the secret will that justifies it. When you join their secret assembly, you betray your true self and invite fracture; anger becomes a wall that you dig down in your own life. The curse speaks as a factual consequence of inhabiting cruelty: you will be divided in Jacob and scattered in Israel—the mind split into fragments. The healing is to reverse the alignment: refuse to unite with cruelty, and invite the I AM, your higher awareness, to reconstitute the self as a single, harmonious center. By reigning as observer and choosing unity, you convert the dream of separation into the reality of wholeness. The inner house is repaired when attention shifts from fault-finding to embrace of divine order, and the outward dispersion dissolves into coherent life.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume the I AM as sovereign ruler of your mind, and revise the impulse: 'I will not unite with cruelty; I am one with unity.' Feel the mental walls dissolving into a single, tranquil center.
