10Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near unto him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.
Genesis 48:9-10

Biblical Context

Joseph presents his two sons to Jacob, declaring they are God-given. Jacob, aged and nearly blind, brings them near and blesses them.

Neville's Inner Vision

Jacob's dim eyes remind us that true sight is inward; the I AM knows what God has placed within, even when outward vision is failing. Joseph's sons are not strangers to him; they are the fruits born of his consciousness in this place. When he says, Bring them near and I will bless them, the inner man invites you to draw your inner loves and powers into awareness. The blessing is not a transaction from without but a recognition from within: God has given you these Son-qualities, and that fact is the grace that changes your experience. The kiss and embrace are the felt sense of that acceptance—an inner kiss that says, You are seen, you are loved, you are complete already. In Neville's psychology, the events of the page reflect your own state of being: when you assume and feel that you are blessed, you bring your God-given sons into your life now. Providence is your internal alignment; grace is the gentle affection of the I AM toward your becoming.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and name two inner aspects you want blessed. Bring them near to the I AM now and feel the blessing as already yours.
