Read Genesis 48 in context

Scripture Focus

8And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these?
9And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them.
Genesis 48:8-9

Biblical Context

Israel looked on Joseph's two sons and asked who they were. Joseph said they were his sons, whom God had given him in this place, and Jacob asked to bring them forward so he could bless them.

Neville's Inner Vision

Israel represents the I AM that awakens to new inner dispositions. Beholding Joseph's sons is the soul's recognition of inner faculties that have blossomed in the now. Joseph's statement, they are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place, declares that these gifts are not earned by effort but bestowed in the present moment within the inner field. The place is your current consciousness where Providence moves through thoughts and feelings. To bring them forward for blessing is to perform the spiritual law: acknowledge and bless what you deem real. Blessing is not external praise but a conscious acknowledgment that these inner sons are real expressions of the Presence of God flowing through you. When you honor them as already given, you align with Providence and invite grace into your day by the simple act of recognition.

Practice This Now

Assume that these inner sons—your faculties and favorable states—are already given by God in this moment. Bring them into awareness and bless them as real; feel the blessing run through you until your outer experience follows.
