Genesis 48:3-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Genesis 48 in context

Scripture Focus

3And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
4And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.
5And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.
6And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.
Genesis 48:3-6

Biblical Context

Jacob recounts that God appeared to him at Luz and blessed him, promising fruitfulness, expansion, and an enduring possession for his descendants; Ephraim and Manasseh are declared his, and future offspring inherit by lineage.

Neville's Inner Vision

Jacob’s speech reveals a state of consciousness, not a map of lands. God Almighty appearing at Luz is the I AM awakening within you, meeting your awareness in the inner arena where you birth reality. The blessing—fruitfulness, multiplication, a multitude of people—speaks of your inner faculty to generate outcomes from belief and feeling. When Jacob says Ephraim and Manasseh are mine, he names two aspects of your consciousness that you now claim as your own; they are born in the land of Egypt, the conditions you once accepted, and yet you profess them as yours. Your future seed shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance—meaning the thoughts and states you nurture today will carry the lineage of your present inner truth. This is not control over others, but alignment of your inner state with the truth that you are blessed, fruitful, and in possession of an eternal inner land. The promise becomes your lived reality when you revise your sense of self to match this blessing, here and now.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Close your eyes and assume the blessing as present fact: I am fruitful, I possess the land, and my inner heirs are mine now. Feel that reality until it remains.
