Inner Bowing and the I AM
Genesis 43:26-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Joseph’s brothers bow to him and ask about their father’s welfare. Neville would see this as the soul submitting to its inner ruler and seeking the welfare of the higher life within.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within each man there is a throne and a ruler. The outward bowing to Joseph is the mind’s recognition that the I AM sits as King in you. The gift in the brothers’ hands symbolizes the energies and intentions you bring to this inner court, surrendered to the divine imagination that rules your life. When Joseph asks whether your father is well, he is really asking whether the inner father—the steadfast life and faith within you—is alive in you now. The Kingdom of God is not a distant empire but the quiet ruling of awareness that you, the I AM, govern every scene. True worship is alignment, reverence, and a daily inquiry that confirms life, vitality, and continuity in your inner life. The scene becomes a living diagram: your present state bows to the I AM, and your awareness calls forth the health and influence of your inner father. Practically, it shows how you can treat any circumstance as a sign of inner kingly authority, inviting it to demonstrate itself as life.
Practice This Now
In a moment of quiet, assume the role of the inner king and bow to your I AM. Present a mental gift and ask inwardly about the welfare of your inner father, then revise any sense of lack into life.
