Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Joseph found grace in Potiphar's sight and was made overseer of his house; all he had was placed in his hand. Because of Joseph, the Lord blessed the Egyptian's house, and all that existed there prospered.
Neville's Inner Vision
Joseph's rise in the Egyptian household is a parable of your inner life. The word grace in his sight is the inner recognition that you are already loved by the I AM, and therefore you serve with joy. When he is made overseer of the house and all that he has is placed in his hand, this is the inner state taking charge of your thoughts, beliefs, and sensations. From that moment, the Lord blesses the house and the field because the same consciousness now governs both. The master entrusts all to Joseph, and he knows nothing of his possessions but the bread he eats—this is the moment you realize your outer world is the effect of your inner state, not the cause. Joseph is described as goodly and well favored; this is the outward fruit of an inward conviction: you are worthy, you are capable, you are loved by the I AM. Therefore, cultivate a mental posture of dominion, service, and gratitude, and watch the outer environment respond as if blessed for your sake.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling: I am the overseer of my inner house, and all that I have is under my control; the outer world now reflects that blessing.
