The I Am With Joseph

Genesis 39:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Genesis 39 in context

Scripture Focus

2And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
Genesis 39:2

Biblical Context

Genesis 39:2 states that the LORD was with Joseph, enabling him to prosper in Potiphar's house. The verse points to prosperity arising from divine companionship rather than external circumstance.

Neville's Inner Vision

Joseph is not merely a boy in Egypt; he is a state of consciousness in which the I AM dwells, and because that state is settled, the word LORD becomes the inner synonym for awareness. Joseph prospers because this inner presence is settled in him; the house of his master is simply the stage on which consciousness acts and shows forth wealth and provision. If you read this as outward luck, you miss the point: prosperity follows when you assume that God is WITH you in every moment, in every role, in every room you inhabit. The word LORD becomes not a distant deity but your present sense of I AM. When you revise the scene in imagination and feel it real that you are already prosperous, the outer world rearranges to reflect that inner truth. This is Providence as your ongoing state, guidance that guides your steps by the assurance that you are not alone but divinely accompanied.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, place your hand on your chest, and repeat 'I AM with me now' as a conviction. See in vivid detail the scene you believe you are already prosperous in—your own 'house' or workspace—feeling the reality of abundance until it lingers.
