Biblical Context
Potiphar's wife accuses Joseph of attempted seduction, weaving a false narrative. The scene centers Joseph's purity and integrity under pressure.
Neville's Inner Vision
Genesis 39:14-18 plays out as a drama inside you, where the accusatory voice of conscience tries to pin you to a narrative of guilt. Joseph stands for a state of pure, unprotesting consciousness; the Hebrew servant is your true self, the dignity of Imago Dei. The woman's cries and the garment left behind symbolize the flurry of outward appearances that cannot contaminate the I AM when you are fully identified with it. When the inner voice cries, you resist by not consenting to the story; the garment is merely a token you drop from your attention, not a mark upon your being. The inner lord (your I AM) comes home to review the scene, and the outward tale dissolves under the light of truth. The parallel structure of accusation shows how fear repeats itself until you rewrite it with faithfulness and truth. The practice is to dwell in the certainty that you are innocent because you are consciousness itself; you do not react to the appearance but revise it by assuming the truth of your purity and fidelity. In that shift, the kingdom within is established.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and revise the scene by declaring I am the I AM, pure and faithful; this appearance cannot touch my being. Then imagine stepping into the inner lord's presence and feeling the truth of my innocence.
