Rods of Conscious Wealth

Genesis 30:37-43 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Genesis 30 in context

Scripture Focus

37And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chestnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.
38And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink.
39And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted.
40And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the ringstraked, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and put them not unto Laban's cattle.
41And it came to pass, whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods.
42But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in: so the feebler were Laban's, and the stronger Jacob's.
43And the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses.
Genesis 30:37-43

Biblical Context

Jacob sets up rods to influence the flocks' conceptions, guiding which offspring are born ringstraked, speckled, or spotted. By separating his flocks and directing attention, he experiences great increase.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the rods as symbols in your own mind. The 'stronger cattle' are the results your deeper beliefs make possible. When you place the 'rods' before the 'eyes' of your awareness, you are not manipulating external events; you are impressing a state of consciousness onto your subconscious. In your I AM, you choose a dominant idea of abundance and train your attention to feed that idea. The faces toward the ringstraked equals directing your attention to the aspects of life you want to grow. The outer increase, or 'increased exceedingly,' is the fruit of consistent inner alignment, not luck. Jacob's method becomes a parable for mental discipline: you feed the daily impression of abundance and withdraw attention from lack. Providence is the present inward awareness guiding you toward greater riches as you persist in the assumption that wealth is yours now.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume 'I AM wealthy now.' Visualize a scene where provision flows and feel the gratitude as if it already exists.
