Biblical Context
Jacob travels east and comes to a well in the field, watered by three flocks, with a great stone at the well's mouth.
Neville's Inner Vision
Jacob's outward journey is a symbol of the inner voyage of consciousness. The land of the east signifies the rising awareness within you where every choice begins. The well is the living water of life that flows from within; to water the three flocks means sustaining body, mind, and will from one source. The great stone on the well's mouth represents a fixed belief, a mental blockade that seems to keep life from flowing. Neville teaches that God is I AM, and imagination is the faucet through which supply enters your experience. When you accept that you are already in possession of the good you seek, you remove the stone by revision and feel the water rising. The three flocks drink; your resources—physical vitality, mental clarity, and purposeful direction—are watered by your inner conviction. Providence becomes your inner alignment, not a distant event; you move as the consciousness that "I AM" and thus attract harmony, guidance, and support. The journey you attempt outward is simply a rehearsal of your ability to imagine and to dwell in the feeling of fulfillment now.
Practice This Now
Practice: close your eyes and imagine Jacob at the well, then revise any sense of lack by declaring, 'I am the source of all I seek.' See the stone roll away and feel the waters flowing to water the three flocks within you.
