Scripture Focus

13And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
14And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
Genesis 28:13-15

Biblical Context

God promises land and many descendants, along with divine presence and guidance, to Jacob, and vows to stay with him until the promise is fulfilled.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the scene, the ladder and the standing LORD are not distant facts but your own inner states waking to life. The LORD standing above it declares that the land you lie upon is the landscape of your current consciousness, and that this landscape belongs to you and your seed. The promise of land, many descendants, and blessing is the inward law by which you measure your world; when you imagine from the I AM as the source, your mind expands and your seed multiplies—ideas, relationships, opportunities sprouting in every direction: west, east, north and south. The phrase I am with thee is the assurance that your inner state is never abandoned; Providence is not a future arrival but a steady keeping of you in alignment until the inner promise is realized in your outward life. Your travels are internal shifts of awareness; you can be brought back to this land again and again, by returning to the feeling that you already possess it. Stay loyal to that inner covenant, and you will see the outer world reflect the fulfillment.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the state 'I AM with me; I have the land now.' Hold the feeling until it seems real, then revise doubt by repeating 'my seed multiplies in all directions' in your mind.
