Biblical Context
Jacob lands at a place for the night, uses stones as a pillow and sleeps. The scene signals the awakening of the awareness of God's presence and guidance.
Neville's Inner Vision
Take this as a symbol: place is not geography but your inner disposition; stones are fixed supports you lean on while you sleep the dream of life. The verse says he lighted upon a place and tarried through the night; in truth, you tarry until the assumption becomes real. The pillow is not fabric but faith—a cluster of fixed convictions you hold as you relinquish control and rest in the I AM. The Presence that Jacob awakens to is the awareness that you are always in covenant with God, not by outward ritual but by the alignment of your consciousness with the divine I AM. Providence and guidance arise when you accept that your life’s path is the fulfillment of a covenant already established in consciousness. When you imagine you are already where you want to be, and you rest on your stones, the dream of your life becomes real in you and through you. Think of each stone as a belief that holds you securely in the truth: I and the Father are one; my path is guided from within.
Practice This Now
In the next few minutes, close your eyes and picture a quiet place. Place stones for a pillow, rest your head on them, and affirm, 'I am one with God; I am guided by the I AM.'
