Biblical Context
Jacob, prompted by Rebekah, wears Esau’s disguise to obtain his father’s blessing, showing how inner states and outer forms can be rearranged to awaken a desired outcome.
Neville's Inner Vision
Genesis 27:14-17 is a parable of inner technique. Rebekah’s plan is the mind’s craft: clothing Jacob in Esau’s raiment and goat skins is a symbolic wearing of a different self. Jacob stands for the ego hungry for a blessing; the garments and skins are the beliefs and memories you slip over who you currently are to imitate a higher claim. Isaac, the perceptive inner witness, blesses only when the inner sense of I AM aligns with the imagined state, so the blessing emerges as a recognition of your true nature rather than an external grant. The savory meat represents the felt satisfaction of a desire already felt in consciousness, not something to be earned apart from your being. The scene teaches you that by dressing your present self in the attire of your desired self, you shift the inner order: your awareness, no longer bound to lack, blesses you from within. It is not moral deception but deliberate state-change—an apprenticeship in consciousness, using imagination to show that you are, and always have been, the blessed I AM.
Practice This Now
Assume you already possess the blessing you seek, and feel it now as your present reality. Visualize slipping into the garment of your desired self and receive the blessing from the I AM within.
