Biblical Context
Isaac goes out to meditate in the field at eventide. He sees the camels approaching as Rebekah appears, and they become husband and wife, bringing Isaac comfort after his mother's death.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider Isaac as the I AM in you who withdraws into the field of consciousness at eventide. The camels are the moving pictures of your desires arriving from the unseen servant of your memory. The moment Rebekah lifts her eyes is the moment your inner state recognizes itself as the beloved. The veil she places upon herself is the protection dropped when your assumption stands, and the servant—the inner word—tells Isaac what has been done: the master is here. When they bring Rebekah into Sarah's tent, the symbolic tent of old limiting identity collapses into a new covenant, the marriage of consciousness with its fulfilled desire. Isaac loves her, and is comforted after his mother's death because the new state replaces the old ache with belonging. This scene is your inner ceremony: your awareness merges with the felt sense of fulfillment; the world follows suit as you persist in the assumption that your desire is already true.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Before sleep, assume the I AM is governing your field and visualize the beloved arriving as already yours. Dwell in the feeling of completion and let your inner word confirm it as done.
