Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Sarah lived 127 years and died in Hebron; Abraham mourned for her, marking the end of an inner era.
Neville's Inner Vision
Death here is not a doom but a shift of states. Sarah stands for a long-loved image of security—the queen of domestic certainty my mind has cherished. Her passing signals the end of that inner image. Abraham's tears are my awareness perceiving the distance from the old form, yet mourning is the crucible through which I release attachment to a former identity. In this sense, the end is a transition to a higher covenant; I feel I am still alive, merely shifting the inner object of my trust. The promise remains unaffected; the inner land is ready for a new name, a new partner, a new home within me.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare, 'I am the life that moves beyond the old image of security.' Then visualize Hebron as an interior landscape and feel the new covenant already present within you.
