Biblical Context
Sarah's demand in Genesis 21:10 calls Abraham to expel the bondwoman and her son so Isaac alone would be heir.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the Neville lens, the scene is a drama of inner states. Hagar and Ishmael are not persons cast outside a camp, but beliefs and images you no longer identify with as your rightful heir. Isaac represents the one seen as the heir of promise—the fully awakened state of consciousness that already possesses the covenant. When Sarah declares, 'Cast out this bondwoman and her son,' she speaks to your awareness: you must separate the old self from the new creation in order for the new state to come forth. The expulsion is not punishment but a clearing of space so the higher self can inhabit and rule. Abraham, the I AM in you, consents and acts from faith, not fear, and the bondwoman is released by your deliberate attention turning away from lack, limitation, or attachment to the old script. In this inner drama, the finished state already exists; your task is to align your awareness with that state and witness the former conditions lose their claim.
Practice This Now
Assume the end: I am the heir of the covenant, living in the Isaac state. Feel it real by turning away attention from the old bondwoman and her son, letting the new consciousness rule.
