Biblical Context
Genesis 2:4-7 describes God forming man from dust, breathing life into him, and man becoming a living soul.
Neville's Inner Vision
Genesis presents the I AM at work in you, not as distant history but as your present consciousness. The dust of the ground is the raw material of your current state—the beliefs, habits, and unformed possibilities of your self. When the LORD God forms man from the dust, this is the inner act of revising your self-concept by attention. The mist that watered the ground speaks of the gentle rains of feeling and belief that rise when you entertain a new sense of who you are. And the breath of life poured into his nostrils is the I AM within awakening to awareness; suddenly the man is not mere matter but a living soul—awareness animated in form. Your life now is an image, imagined and felt into being by the breath that animates it. The scene is inside you; the outer world answers from that inner state. So when you acknowledge you are the I AM, you revise your inner atmosphere, and your circumstances begin to reflect that awakening, breathing vitality into your day.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, declare 'I am the I AM,' and feel the breath of life filling you as you revise your inner scene to embody the vitality you seek. Let that felt reality linger for a few moments.
