Genesis 2:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Genesis 2 in context

Scripture Focus

2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Genesis 2:2

Biblical Context

On the seventh day, God completed His work and rested; this signifies an inner completion in consciousness rather than external labor.

Neville's Inner Vision

On the seventh day the I AM, the one awareness inside you, declares completion and rests. The 'work' described in Genesis is not a distant act; it is the drama of lack unwound by the decision to cease inner production and to accept that the inner kingdom is finished. When you dwell in that inner Sabbath, you align with the truth that there is only One Reality—the mind that formed all things—and that Reality is present now as your experience. Do not chase after outer forms; honor the inner rest by assuming the fulfilled state. As you persist in the feeling that your wish is already done, the outer appearances rearrange to reflect that inner decree. The end of creation is not loss but completion; you awaken to your own creative power and rest in it, letting perception prove the done deal.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and imagine you have finished the work of your desire; dwell in the feeling of completion for several minutes, then affirm inwardly, 'I am the finished state.'
